How groups and shares work
With Weezo you can precisely define access rights to every available shared resources for each and every user.
Anybody is not granted access to your files or webcam !!
For instance you can have full access to all files on your hard drive while your guests will only be able to look at photos from a specific directory.
To make this possible, Weezo use the principle of user groups and shares
Groups
First, you define the various user groups who will be authorized to access your computer. A user account is then created for each of these groups.
You can for instance create groups called "Family", "Friends", "Colleagues", "Guests" ...
You can choose to protect access to any group with a specific password. For instance your family could have a password to access the "Family" group and its private content, while anybody could access the "Guests" group and its not-so-private content. It's your choice.
An "Administrator" group allows you to remotely manage several functions of your Weezo personal site.
Click on the "Groups" tab to access the group management screen.
Resources
You can then define the shares you want to make available :
In order to do so, you select in a list the type of share (photo album, music, webcam, video,...) and then configure it with the specific interface.
For each file sharing type of shares (photo album, music, video, explorer), you define among other things the directory wherein the files are located and the access rights to these files (read, write or alter, download ...).

Click on the "Share" tab to access the share management screen.
Linking groups and resources
Finally, you associate the share you defined with the user groups who will have access to it.
To associate a group with a share, click on the "Groups" tab and then in the "Available shares" text box. |
